Many high school seniors and college freshmen feel uncertain about the subject area they would like to study in college. Almost half of the students in a typical freshman class at Xavier University are undecided. Xavier's emphasis on the liberal arts and a balanced education allows students to explore a number of fields of study, however the Academic Advising Center guides students through this period of exploration. Undeclared students are assigned academic advisors in the Academic Advising Center during the freshman and sophomore years.
