ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The three-week program, running July 14-Aug. 8, 2008, includes
intensive German language, literature and culture courses or courses
examining the political and economic aspects of a globalized Germany
and Europe.
The Catholic University of Eichstätt is situated between Munich
and Nürnberg in the Bavarian foothills with easy and quick
access to the Bavarian Alps, Munich and Austria, as well as Eastern
and Southern Europe.
COURSES AND CREDITS
The program offers four levels of German study from low intermediate
to advanced/near native that are worth six credit hours (three credit
hours in language and three credit hours in literature, business
or culture). Course topics are:
1. Study Germany in the Heart of Bavaria (plus intensive German
language courses)
2. Literature, Film & Literary Adaptation: An Introduction (plus
intensive German Language courses)
3. Business & Politics: Germany, Europe and Globalization –
taught in English (plus intensive German language course)
4. Business & Politics: Germany, Europe and Globalization –
taught in German (plus intensive German language course)
HOUSING
Students stay in a residence hall (the Kolping Haus).
COST
The cost includes tuition, 6 semester credits, accommodation in
double rooms ($210 Euro surcharge for a single room), two all-day
excursions to Bavarian sites, classes in theater and dance, film
showings and a reception in the “Spiegelsaal“ of the
Prince Bishop’s residence.
Health insurance and airfare (approximately $1500.00) not included.
