Minor
Peace Studies is a rapidly developing
area of academic study which, from a variety of disciplines,
examines:
- the causes and consequences of war
and social conflict
- the ethical implications of violence
and peace
- the requirements for peace and
strategies for conflict resolution
- the relationship between peace,
justice, and ecological sustainability
Xavier's Peace Studies Minor is a fifteen hour
interdisciplinary program compatible with any undergraduate major.
Peace Studies draws on a wide range of academic subjects including
international affairs, history, political science, theology,
philosophy, economics, literature, psychology, women's studies,
minority studies, and the natural sciences.
