Nursing: Admission

Prerequisites

High school chemistry is a prerequisite for admission to the nursing program. Students currently in high school should complete this course before graduation. Transfer students with no high school chemistry background should complete a high school level chemistry course at a community college.

Admission

*PLEASE NOTE: There are a limited number of spaces in the university's freshman class each year. It is advisable to apply early, as the university's freshman class fills on a first-come, first-served basis by accepted students who have made their tuition deposit.

Application Requirements

An application for admission to the University may be obtained from the office of admission.

  • Applicants must apply and meet Xavier University's entrance requirements.
  • All applicants must also submit official copies of their high school transcripts as well as ACT or SAT scores. Additionally, transfer applicants must forward official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended and a listing of courses in progress with their corresponding credit hours.
  • Freshmen enrolled in the Xavier nursing program must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 in order to begin sophomore level nursing courses. Students must also maintain a cumulative 2.50 grade point average from sophomore year through senior year to remain in the program.
