Chinese born pianist, Ningjialu(Lulu) Liu has appeared with orchestras and in recital throughout the United States, China and Spain. At the age of 17, she made her concerto debut playing Schumann Concerto in A minor with Sichuan Philharmonic Orchestra in China. In the same year, she was admitted to Oberlin Conservatory of music with top scholarship, where she studied with Mr. Peter Takács. After finishing her master’s degree at New England Conservatory of Music with Mr. Victor Rosenbaum, Lulu is currently pursuing her DMA at Cincinnati Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Mr. Awadagin Pratt.As a pianist who dedicated to discovering the underrated composition and promoting new music. She collaborated regularly with the composition department on multiple premieres of new music during her study at NEC. In 2020, she performed Florence Price Concerto with Texas Medical Center Orchestra in celebrating the international women’s day. In 2021, she won the pianoTexas concerto competition and performed Saint-Saëns Concerto No. 2 with Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Miguel Harth-Bedoya. In 2022, she won the CCM concerto competition and performed Florence Price Concerto again with CCM Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Mark Gibson. Her recent performing highlights include her artistic collaboration with Portuguese pianist Maria João Pires at Partitura Workshop in Glimore Music Festival 2023. Besides her soloist career, she serves as the Artist in residence at Macau Youth Symphony Orchestra Music festival since 2019; the musical director of Artciál International Piano Competition and Festival – Texas Division. In 2022, Lulu founded the ABC (Absolute Classical) Music Sharing Association, where her team is actively exploring new models for general musical education for children. The association has organized a series of concerts, having performed for underprivileged and autistic children.
