Admission

Our students come from a variety of academic backgrounds including health services, psychology, business, natural sciences and general studies. We are pleased to consider applications from students who hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. Our application deadline is June 1.

    Please note- the deadline for international applications is January 1. All completed applications must be received in our office at that time. Please email xumhsa@xavier.edu for a list of the required documents. Provisional acceptances will not be granted an I-20.

Your application to the Xavier University graduate program in health services administration is carefully reviewed by our admissions committee. We consider each student's application on a case-by-case basis with personal attention given to all your application materials.

Admission criteria include, but are not limited to:

  • preferred undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
  • Preferred GMAT or GRE scores of 20th percentile or higher in the quantitative section and 50th percentile or higher in the verbal section.
  • recommendation forms completed by two references
  • current resume
  • statement of intent: a 1,000 - 1,200 word essay
  • personal interviews with Admissions Committee members

All entering students must complete both an accounting course and a basic statistics course and receive a "C" or better from an accredited university before the start of the fall semester.

The following courses are also highly recommended:

  • microeconomics
  • computer literacy with working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software
