tutorials using the
button, located in the bottom right hand corner of each page. Return
to previous pages as often as you wish, using the button
located
in the bottom left hand corner of each page.
You may
also use the menu on the left hand side of each xu.tutor page.
Glossary
links: A glossary is provided to define unfamiliar terms. Glossary
terms are in red boldface; e.g., authority
control. When you click a glossary term a small window
opens displaying the definition. It is essential that you
click the <<close window>>
hot spot before clicking another link.
Example links:
Example links open small windows displaying database features and
other information. Most of these are in blue boldface; e.g., example.
Again, it is essential that you click the <<close
window>> hot spot before clicking another link.
Demos:
Demos provide an interactive search experience using the following
databases:
- Academic
Search Premier, a general database
- Business
Source Premier, a business database
- ERIC, an
education database
- PsycINFO,
a psychology database
Demo links are
in green boldface; e.g., demo
adoption search in Academic Search Premier.. When you click
a demo link the resulting screen is divided into two frames. Follow
the instructions in the left frame while typing responses in the
right frame. The right frame actually displays a "live"
database. Please be patient as it may take a couple of minutes for
the database to load. Please complete all demos. When finished do
not log out. Click the
button to return to xu.tutor.
