Rules and Regulations for Business Plan Competitions
- Groups of up to four students may enter the Business
Plan Competition
- Students entering as a group are eligible to enter
a plan for a second and different business as an individual
or group of no more than two.
- Plans must be between 7-10 pages, 12 point Times
New Roman typed, single spaced, and meet the requirements
of the Step-by-Step Guide to Writing a Business Plan
and judging criteria. (undergraduate) (graduate)
- Plans will be judged both as a written document
and as a presentation. Presentations are strongly
encouraged to be PowerPoint form. Presentations should
be between 5-7 minutes with time following for question
and answer. No presentation will be allowed to go
longer than 10 minutes. Students will be required
to defend their business plans in front of a three
judge panel who will challenge the plan for its feasibility
assessment, its structure, target markets, financials,
and marketing.
Awards
Cash prizes of at least $1000 total will be awarded.
