Mission

Since its founding, the Edward B. Brueggeman Center has worked collaboratively for a more just, peaceful, and sustainable world. We understand that real systemic change comes slowly. Collaboration, persistence, and partnerships are the foundations of systemic change. Today, the mission of the Center is concentrated in the promotion of the Four Universal Apostolic Preferences of the Jesuits (Society of Jesus), who established the University.

Brueggeman Fellowship

The Winter-Cohen Family Brueggeman Fellows Program, overseen by the Brueggeman Center, is one of the Center's longest standing programs.The Fellowship offers up to 8 students each year the chance to combine a year of intensive independent study with an international immersion experience. The program is highly competitive and draws graduate and undergraduate students from all four colleges and a wide range of disciplines.

Programs and Events

Our projects use dialogue and collaboration to build social capital—the human-to-human engagement that forges the civic bonds upon which strong communities are built. We seek partners for all of the projects we undertake—regionally, nationally, and globally—to collaborate in the essential work of deepening interfaith understanding and promoting systemic change on issues of social and environmental justice.
